In the automotive industry, a reliable roof is critical to keeping business running smoothly—no matter the weather. For CMA Valley Volkswagen, their original metal roof aged poorly, and it began to show signs of failure: leaks formed, drainage suffered, and the skylights became an ongoing maintenance challenge. The dealership needed a long-term solution that wouldn’t disrupt their business.
The Challenge
Years of exposure left the metal roof prone to leaks and drainage failures, while outdated skylights required frequent attention. For a high-traffic dealership, water intrusion and constant repairs prevent sustainable operations. Our mission: reinforce and modernize the roof without interfering with their day-to-day activities.
The Solution
We designed and installed a complete retrofit tailored to address the following needs:
Skylight Reinforcement: We began by covering the existing skylights with metal panels, enhancing protection and ensuring uniformity across the roof.
Drainage Improvements: Internal gutters were filled with insulation, and tapered sections were installed to properly guide water runoff.
Surface Preparation: To create a flat surface, flute fillers were added between the metal ribs, followed by a new insulation layer to increase energy efficiency.
Perimeter Precision: Custom wood blocking was installed around the perimeter, ensuring a precise fit for the updated system.
Advanced TPO Installation: A white TPO membrane was applied across the entire roof and secured with an induction weld system for durable, watertight performance. All seams, penetrations, and walls were sealed to manufacturer standards.
Finishing Touches: he retrofit concluded with matching edge metal, drip edges, coping caps, and custom box gutters and downspouts—combining high performance with a professional finish.
