Kline's Dairy Bar is a familiar landmark in Staunton, Virginia, and Skyline Roofing was brought in to upgrade multiple roof areas across the building as one coordinated project. The scope spanned the main metal roof, the low-slope roof sections, the entrance canopy, and new custom gutters and downspouts, pairing updated protection with the building's classic character.

The Challenge

This was not a single-surface roof. Kline's Dairy Bar needed several different roof areas addressed together, each with its own system and detailing: a standing seam metal roof, low-slope membrane sections, an entrance canopy, and the building's drainage. The work had to modernize performance and give the building a clean, updated look while preserving the recognizable character that regulars know, all executed as one cohesive project from tear off to cleanup.

The Solution

Skyline removed and replaced the main roof with a new standing seam metal roof in an ash gray finish, enhancing the building’s appearance while providing long-term protection. Two red cupolas were installed to help maintain the character of the building while adding a fresh finish detail.

The low-slope roof areas were upgraded with a new roof system designed to protect the building from the elements and improve overall performance, including new insulation, roof membrane, and flashing details.

To move water away from the roof and building properly, we installed custom gutters and downspouts. The project included a combination of metal roofing, flat roofing, custom sheet metal, drainage improvements, and detailed finish work to ensure every component worked together seamlessly.
